As of Tuesday morning, that domain name directs to the Wikipedia page for the blabbering billionaire, who settled for second in the Iowa caucus after insisting for months he would win.
That puts Trump is a long line of Loser.com losers — including President Obama and Kanye West.
The domain has been owned since 1995 by Brian Connelly, a systems analyst in South Carolina, according to the Daily Beast. For the past 21 years, he’s used it as a running joke about whoever’s making news at the moment — or whoever Connelly just wants to troll.
In 2008, he changed his site to redirect to Barack Obama’s Wikipedia page — apparently just because the red-hot presidential candidate would draw the site lots of attention.
“That wasn’t against Obama’s election!” Connelly told the Daily Beast last year.
“That was just getting people to register.”
After Kanye West’s spat with Beck over losing the Album of the Year Grammy last year, Loser.com turned into a Yeezy landing page.
Other past losers include former South Carolina Gov. Jim Hodges and Google — the latter being another trick to get clicks, Connelly said.
A domain search shows Loser.com turned into a Trump proxy at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday — just a couple hours after Ted Cruz trounced Trump in the caucus.
During part of George W. Bush’s presidency, his Wikipedia page was the leading Google result for “failure,” thanks to a trolling practice called “Google bombing.”
